Boop here for cuteness

There's actually some science to back this whole theory up! That is, if you didn't believe my theory that being around baby animals is guaranteed to make your day at least 73% better.
A study published in PLOS ONE found that looking at pictures of puppies and kittens did more than just make people “awww” at their screens. The baby animals actually triggered stronger positive emotions and even helped people perform better on tasks that required careful attention. Researchers linked this to something called “baby schema," those giant eyes, round little faces, and oversized heads basically hijack our brains into making us want to protect them.
Obviously, petting animals is even better. A separate study found that university students who spent just 10 minutes petting cats and dogs had lower cortisol levels afterward. For those of you who don't know, Cortisol is one of the hormones associated with stress, which means that there is now a scientific reason why burying your face in a fluffy cat feels better than answering your emails.
So if anyone asks why you're looking at these awwdorable kittens, just tell them that it's helping you de-stress and focus more. It's actually true!
